Heart of Palm Bolognese

This healthy pasta dish is much lower in carbs than your traditional spaghetti with bolognese because it uses heart of palm pasta rather than gluten-filled pasta noodles. Meanwhile, the sauce is easy to make with a quick simmer on the stove. If you require a delicious meal on a busy weeknight, this is a perfect one to make.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon avocado oil (use code TRAILTOHEALTH for 10% off)

1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon fresh oregano
1 tablespoon fresh basil
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 jar Primal Kitchen pasta sauce (use code TRAILTOHEALTH for 10% off)
1 package of Heart of palm pasta
Fresh basil and Parmesan cheese, for garnish (optional)


Directions

1. In a saucepan set over medium heat, heat the avocado oil. Add the beef, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, and salt, and cook until browned.

2. Stir in the pasta sauce and bring to a simmer.

3. Meanwhile, in another saucepan, cook the heart of palm pasta using the instructions on the box.

4. Serve the pasta in a large bowl and top with the bolognese.

5. Top with fresh basil and parmesan if desired.
